Q: Why have I not received my Honda Red Rider magazine?
A:
Honda Red Rider™ magazine has gone exclusively digital! The online publication can be found on the Clubhouse website under the "Publications" tab. There you can find the most recent issue of the Honda Red Rider magazine as well as past issues. It's still the same great magazine with lots of insider information and the most up-to-date articles pertaining to Honda products and partners. The Honda Red Rider magazine will be available as often as the printed version was, but be on the lookout for some unannounced bonus issues!
Q: I like reading the Honda Red Rider magazine but would like to see more articles on touring, sport, cruisers, etc. How do I make that request?
A:
The Honda Red Rider™ magazine is directed at all Honda owners so we cover all type of Hondas. We encourage you to submit your stories and photos for the magazine or the Clubhouse. To be considered for the Honda Red Rider magazine, send your materials to Vreeke & Associates, 250 E. Easy Street, Suite 3, Simi Valley, CA 93065.
Q: I am a paid Member. Do I still receive all the benefits I received before the change in memberships?
A:
Absolutely. You still have access to your model-specific service manual as well as the common service manual. You may still submit for MSF reimbursement, and you have unlimited access to the all new fully digital Honda Red Rider magazine. Once your paid membership expires, you only need to login as you normally do, and you may continue taking advantage of all the other great features that come with your automatic free membership.
Q: How do I go about getting my MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) Training reimbursement?
A:
>On-road Motorcycles and Scooters
We have recently posted a new form to make MSF reimbursement requests easy! For paid HRCA Members or Members who have bought a new never registered on-road motorcycle within the last twelve months, we will reimburse up to $75 for successful completion of a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) course.
1. Visit the Publications tab on the Clubhouse website.
2. Then select Technical Downloads.
You will find the MSF Reimbursement form in a PDF format for you to open and print. Information on how and what to submit are listed on the form, so please read it very carefully. Do not send in the form unless you have all the correct documentation and you have filled out the form completely.
MSF Courses include the Basic RiderCourse (BRC), Experienced RiderCourse (ERC), DirtBike School or ScooterSchool. ScooterSchool courses must be taught at an approved MSF Scooter site and by an MSF-certified Scooter instructor to be considered for reimbursement. For information regarding a BRC or ERC site near you, call the MSF at 1-800-446-9227, for information regarding the DirtBike School call 1-877-288-7093. Via the Internet, you can also go to www.msf-usa.org and click on your state on the map to locate courses within your state.
(Updated 01/16/08. Special note for MSF Courses: The States of Hawaii, Idaho and Oregon (with one site exception) have withdrawn from the MSF curriculum program. As a consequence, the HRCA will not reimburse Members who complete courses in these states, except on approved U.S. military bases. Please remember, we reimburse for MSF courses because the curriculum is standardized nationwide and we then know what our Members are being taught. Until these states re-enter the program, reimbursements to Members in these states will not be made.)
Upon successful completion of an approved training course, send copies of your payment receipt, course completion card, your name and address and HRCA membership number to:
American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Rider Education Department
1919 Torrance Blvd., 100-4C-6C
Torrance, CA 90501-2746
Requests for reimbursement must be received within 60 days from the course completion date. The claim must also be within 12 months of your new on-road motorcycle purchase. The HRCA will only reimburse for one eligible MSF course per year of membership from the time of the motorcycle purchase. A check for reimbursement for the cost of the course (up to $75) will be sent to you in about six weeks. Please note: this benefit is not transferable, and is not available for Honda Associates or their family members. Also note that claims that are rejected for incomplete documentation will only be retained for six months.
Q: How do I register for contingency?
A:
Create a HRCA membership online by selecting "Join the HRCA" on the home page of the Clubhouse. Be sure to print a copy of the Member card because you will need your HRCA Member number each time you complete a contingency claim form.
No pre-registration with Honda is necessary after creating your membership. After each race, send in a claim form. If you don't send in a claim form on time and correctly, you won't get paid.
You may keep your same HRCA member number by logging into www.HRCA.Honda.com and logging in at least once within 12 months from the time you created your membership.
Q: Is it OK to use last year's contingency claim form? How do I get a new form?
A:
Information on the forms may be updated from year to year, so it's always best to use the more current form.
To get the most recent claim form:
- visit www.HondaRedRiders.com.
- Select the type of racing you do.
- Find the Contingency Plan in the left menu.
- Then print the Claim Form from the pull down menu.
Q: Do I have to be a current HRCA member to collect contingency?
A:
Yes.
Q: Can I collect contingency on a used bike?
A:
Yes; if it is a USA-certified Honda motorcycle sold in the United States, it is an eligible year bike, you are the warranty registered owner of the bike, and you are a current member of the Honda Riders Club of America, then you are eligible.
Q: My child has recently shown interest in riding. How do I start her off right?
A:
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation has an excellent off-road course named the Dirt Bike School (DBS). Besides being offered at our four rider education centers, (Alpharetta, Georgia; Irving, Texas; Troy, Ohio; and Colton, California), you can call 1-800-446-9227 to find the closest location.
Q: Why can’t I access Instant Messenger?
A:
The Instant Messenger feature on the Clubhouse has been disabled. We found most members were already using other commercially available services online. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Q: How do I access the Model-Specific Service Manuals?
A:
Model-Specific Service Manuals are still available, but only for members who are still operating under a Paid Member status. In this case, the Service Manual will be viewable for the duration of the member's paid membership. The system will still recognize you as paid when you log in, and you’ll see the sub-tab under Publications>Service Manuals. Once your membership expires, your will need to see a local dealer to purchase a service manual.
Q: Can I still view the Common Service Manual?
A:
Common SMs are available to any registered user and are complimentary. There is a sub-tab for this manual as well under Publications>Service Manuals. The registered user must be logged in to view.
